Dan Riskin

Dan Riskin is a renowned evolutionary biologist, award-winning television presenter, and bestselling author. He has dedicated his career to igniting curiosity in audiences worldwide. Known for his roles as co-host of Discovery Canada’s Daily Planet and host of Animal Planet’s Monsters Inside Me, Riskin’s passion for science is unparalleled.

Riskin earned his PhD from Cornell University, studying bat movement, and has worked at Brown and Boston Universities. Renowned for his infectious humor and charismatic presence, his keynotes inspire audiences to pursue their interests with vigor and curiosity, sparking a deeper sense of inspiration and exploration.

Dr. Michael Ungar

Dr. Michael Ungar holds the Canada Research Chair in Child, Family, and Community Resilience at Dalhousie University. In 2022, he was recognized as the world’s leading Social Work scholar.

Dr. Ungar’s groundbreaking work has significantly influenced the global understanding of human development and organizational processes. With over 250 peer-reviewed articles and 17 books to his name, his insights have been invaluable to international NGOs, government agencies, and Fortune 500 companies.

Makaśa Looking Horse

Makaśa Looking Horse was born on Six Nations territory of the Grand River in Ontario, the largest First Nations reserve in Canada, and is Mohawk and Lakota. She is a youth leader of Ohneganos, a Global Water Futures research project, and hosts the award-winning podcast series Ohneganos: Let’s Talk Water. This podcast, which won the David Suzuki People’s Choice Award, engages Indigenous communities and disseminates research findings through meaningful discussions about water issues and climate change.

Makaśa has campaigned extensively to secure clean drinking water for her community. In 2019, she was nominated by the UN Global Indigenous Youth Caucus to deliver the opening words and blessing at the UN Youth Climate Summit. She is currently studying at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
